Great product, water-tight and "seat-worthy."
We purchased two of these to go on our pontoon boat for "dry storage." They were much cheaper on Amazon (with free shipping) than at the big box stores. Assembly was amazingly quick and these are truly water-tight. We especially like that they double as seating. We put a boat cushion on them for seating, store the cushion inside when not in use. We will probably purchase a couple more for the porch.

I love Suncast products!!!
Suncast products are great! I'm someone who doesn't usually buy anything that requires assembly but Suncast products are the exception. The Suncast ss1000 storage seat literally took me less than 5 minutes to assemble after I read the easy to understand directions. I have numerous other Suncast products including deck boxes and deck seating and I love them all. The prices are reasonable, they're always so easy to assemble and are so durable. I have a Suncast deck box that I purchased many years ago and it has been outside uncovered in the cold Connecticut Winters and the hot and humid Summers and still looks great.

Great item, highly recommend
I have one of these, and one of the larger variety and they are both 5-star. Solid plastic, super easy to put together, waterproof, and they last well (no fading or signs of weathering after two full years). Also really sturdy. My other one is a large bench and you can sit on it easily. This one is made as a seat so it's even better. Great for the yard.

Sturdy and strong
I am so pleased I ordered this. Thank all of you who posted positive, descriptive reviews! It's just what I needed. Very, very easy to assemble. Easily done by one person, no tools. That is a huge plus for me! I am using it indoors, to house an inverter, small battery bank, battery tender etc. for short term electrical outages. For 24 hours or less outages, I can't see pulling out the big generator. But don't want to give up internet, t.v. etc... I really don't like the images I see on youtube etc of the ugly battery banks, wires etc that are setup in a room and the door kept closed because it's ugly. I set this system up close to the item/items I would need to plug in to the inverter when there is an outage. Of course Most people don't know that's what's in this bench. It just looks like a bench type seat. It looks fine in the house, and fine outdoors! It has a catch(molded into the lip and top edge of box) on the lip of the lid that would keep it from being blown open if outdoors. And for me indoors, it's enough to keep a toddler from being able to open it! Another plus. I plan on getting more of these in the future when outdoor storage needs arrive. Since mine is not outdoors I can't 'verify' it's waterproof, but it seems to me it is. I also put vent holes in mine. And a hole so the cord to the battery tender is plugged in to the small battery bank all the time. In the back, that can't be seen. I have many ideas this bench box could be used for. It's lightweight enough, to house two small trash cans say for paper(non food) refuse and one for cans etc on the deck or at reunions etc. Which I plan on doing for our front deck. I suppose because the lid is tight, you could house food type small trash cans(with lids!) in it too for that matter. I am very pleased with the sturdiness and looks and functionality of this bench type box. Very much so worth the money in my humble opinion. Hope this helps someone. Will be ordering more. UPDATE: Feb 2014 I actually have ordered several more of these for uses in the home. They are simply so easy to put together, no tools needed at all. I use them for storing the battery bank, but also for surge suppression extension cords-in several places-to hide the cords since a household needs so many these days. I do make a cutout in the back, but not so much of one as to weaken the seating strength capacity. So, they are also extra seating when needed. I am pleased with these in every way. It's a solution that works and at a price that's right.

I love these bins!
These are perfect! I have over 80 pots and hanging baskets in and around my yards and porches, and I like to plant them on my deck, but it always means making a mess that lasts for several weeks. So I bought two of these terrific storage bins. Putting them together was literally a snap! The pieces were clearly labeled A,B,C,D, etc. and back, side, bottom, etc. Very easy to follow! Total time to put two together was under 10 minutes. Now I use one for my potting soil and the other for extra pots. The curbed tops are flat, perfect for setting pots on while filling or watering, since the overhang on the tops keeps moisture out. And as a bonus, the bins make extra seats when a crowd comes visiting. I love these bins!

Waterproof through driving rains
Have had two of these since mid-2017 now. They are out in yard unprotected but are surviving very well through summer heat and winter/spring hard rains (no snow here). Look like new and very sturdy. The local cats enjoy sunning themselves on them in particular. I did have to order another one when someone (not me) didn't follow the instructions and put it together wrong. When that happens -- there's no going back -- tossed that one and started over.

If you buy one, you'll be back for another
So handy around the house and dock area. Hide away and keep dry anything and everything. Hoses, sprays, garden tools, kids toys, outdoor chair covers, chair pads...... what ever you can imagine. I have several on my deck, dock and patio. Easy to hose off and water stays OUT. Useful indoors or out.......Once you get one, you'll order more. 1001 uses. Also hold up over winter weather. Store you sidewalk salt in one. At these prices, they're a winner. I put one together in less than 4 minutes. Panels are marked A, B, C ,E etc You can't go wrong. Kids love to sit on them too or keep one by the door to set packages or bags on while you get your keys out.

macgyvering
I haven't yet recievied this item but I bought this storage seat so i can turn it into a cricket container for my bearded dragon. with the size of it it will be perfect to house more that 20 dozen cricket at one time. I bet no one ever thought of doing what I will do to this thing. For something like this item you can always use it for what it's made for or find other uses if you can. All you have to do is think outside the storage seat. Wish me luck on macgyvering this storage seat into a cricket container.

Its the perfect size, was SUPER easy to put together and ...
I bought this to fit in a small area behind my townhome so that I can store soil and gardening supplies. Its the perfect size, was SUPER easy to put together and looks great. Perfect size and function for what I wanted it for. I don't sit on it, but prefer to use it to display more pots of flowers, but it is sturdy. I did sit on it and it doesn't give, so I'm sure you could easily use it as a bench too. As long as you follow the instructions (which are very easy to follow), you shouldn't have any trouble putting it together. No tools needed!

Would Buy Again
I bought 2 of these storage units a few years ago, 3 years max. I clearly remember putting them together, since my then 3 year old helped me. Each panel was labeled with a letter, so her job was to find the correct letter for me, but it was so easy to put together, that with me stabilizing the pieces for her, she was even able to click them together! However easy it was to put together, these things are STURDY! They have weathered well, even left out in the bitter winter of Wisconsin, they are not air-tight, but everything inside stays dry...including the timothy hay we feed our rabbit! Pros: Very sturdy, I am pushing 200 lbs but can sit on these. Weather resistant- I have yet to find moisture inside except in spring when ice has crept into the nooks and crannies and melted inside. But that is my fault! Still looks nice- no cracks, no obvious fading or cracking or peeling. Very easy to clean- I keep one in my front yard for kids toys and it frequently gets mud or grass clippings on it and usually a simple spray with the hose cleans it right off, sometimes a sponge if something has dried on. Decent Size- Depending on your needs of course. In one unit we keep rabbit supplies, including a large bag of hay, brushes, chewing toys and what not, there is PLENTY of space left in that one. The other holds jump ropes, chalk, sand toys and whatever else the kids need or put in there. Good for Kids- my kids can easily open and close the lids, no fear of smashed fingers. While my now 3 year old twins can quite reach the bottom, the other children can easily retrieve what they need. Cons: Not bug proof- Not that I really thought it would be, however we currently have a problem with earwigs and they seem to really enjoy the dark and safe environment inside. A few spiders now and again, but nothing major. Hinges- On only one of our units the lid doesn't quite line up just right. The kids never get it to close properly, but as long as we close it while pushing a little to the left if does close tight. It's not a major issue for us, but for others it might be. The other is flush and works great. Pain the butt to mow-around- Entirely my fault for putting it in an area where I need to mow around it. lol Over all, I would buy this product again and currently plan on purchasing the 50 gallon bench by Suncast for pool toys. I would recommend this to anyone who needs to store small items in the yard or garage year round.
